The Story

These master cylinder repair kits from AP Racing are the ideal solution for reconditioning old or leaking master cylinders. A far cheaper alternative to replacing the whole cylinder the kits come complete with all seals and fittings required.

COMPATIBLE MASTER CYLINDERS:

  • CP6461
  • CP6465
  • CP6468

CONTENTS OF REPAIR KIT:

  • Primary Cup Seal
  • Slydring Bearing
  • Piston Washer
  • D-section Piston Seal
  • O-Ring cap seal
  • Boot

INSTRUCTIONS:

In reference to the attached image,

  1. Remove rubber boot (12) and circlip (9)

  2. Carefully remove internal components

  3. Replace the following (making sure all seals have been lubricated with brake Fluid);

    1. Primary Seal (1)

    2. Slydring Bearing (2)

    3. Piston Washer (4)

    4. D-section Piston Seal (5)

    5. O-ring End Cap Seal (8)
  4. Check bore is free from debris

  5. Lubricate bore with Brake Fluid

  6. Reassemble internal components into body

  7. Use original End Cap (9) to secure internal components.
    Tighten to 24Nm (18lbsft) and use Loctite thread locker 242 or 243

  8. Fit new boot (12) to protect from debris
